EVOLUTIONARY
GENOMICS OF BDELLOID ROTIFERS
| INTRODUCTION
|
We are currently sequencing the first genome of a bdelloid rotifer
species at Genoscope. This genome project is coordinated by Pr.
Karine Van Doninck and Dr. Jean-François Flot (FUNDP, Belgium)
in close collaboration with Dr. Olivier Jaillon and Dr. Patrick
Wincker (Genoscope, Evry, France).
We
are also investigating the sources of neutral and adaptive variation
that contributed to the success and persistence of these asexual
animals using a recent and multidisciplinary genomic approach.
